Our take
I've been using the Novation Nocturn new in box, and it's a solid little controller. The Automap feature works great with Ableton and other DAWs—assigning knobs and buttons was straightforward. Eight channels are plenty for mixing, and the MIDI DIN input lets me connect external gear. Build quality is typical Novation: lightweight plastic but functional. My main complaint is that it feels a bit outdated; the USB connection is old-school, and the software install required some patience. For $130, it's a capable controller if you don't need the latest tech.
